The new camera features include a 6 Megapixels CCD sensor, a quality Schneider-Kreuznach C-Variogon 3X optical zoom lens, a huge touch-screen 3-inches LCD monitor, a 256 MB built-in memory and, most important, a wi-fi card able to connect o wi-fi spots to e-mail and transfer pictures through the EasyShare Gallery web site and print in wireless mode. 
“Zuiko Digital” lenses are interchangeable lenses that maximize the performance potential of the image sensor in “Designed-for-Digital” Olympus E-System digital SLR cameras. The two newly announced lenses feature an inner zoom mechanism that eliminates the need for the lens to extend or retract during zooming. They also boast uncompromising professional-grade specifications that ensure superb imaging performance. They are new-generation telephoto zoom lenses that fully realize the “Four-Thirds System” advantages of high mobility, high image-quality, superior brightness, and excellent close-up capability.
Olympus today announced the new Evolt E-500, a full-featured digital SLR camera. Designed to be used by all photographers of any skill level, the E-500's compact and durable body is packed with Olympus innovations like the exclusive Dust Reduction System for spot-free photos, 8 million pixels of detail for bright and colorful images, a TruePic TURBO Image Processor for fast response time, and an oversized, easy-to-view 2.5-inch HyperCrystal LCD. Compatible with a wide range of Olympus Zuiko Digital Specific Lenses, the E-500 delivers the versatility and power that are the hallmarks of a performance SLR, but at an affordable price. 
The Cyber-shot R1 is an integrated lens camera that combines a professional-grade, 10.3-megapixel image sensor and the flexibility of live preview while shooting. The ultra-wide Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T zoom lens (24 - 120 mm) and free-angle, two-inch LCD, the Cyber-shot R1 aims at bringing professional level imaging performance to mainstream consumers. 
With the announcement of the 6 megapixels S4, Nikon start the new "S" series. The stylish S4 bursts a swivel design, allowing the lens and LCD sections to move independently. THe new S4 also features an outstanding Nikkor 10x optical zoom lens (38-380mm 35mm equivalent) and a large LCD monitor. With the Coolpix S4, it is also possible to improve recorded images in-camera with a range of functions as red-eye removal and face-priority AF. Available in Playback Mode, the D-Lighting function enables the user to rescue shots taken with insufficient flash or excessive backlight. 
The S PowerShot series evolution continues with the S80. The new flagship PowerShot by Canon is a digital camera featuring 8.0 megapixels of resolution and a 28 mm wide lens in a sleek package that offers photo enthusiasts and entry-level users a large 2.5-inch LCD screen for easy viewing, a high-quality XGA movie mode, high-speed USB 2.0 support for quick transfer and a new easy-to-use interface. Restyling includes a silver and black body, a new dial mode ring on the right side and a rotating ring for setting adjustment.
