Nikon has released a new firmware update for Nikon D70. Is aimed at further enhancing functionality for 2004's Digital SLR Camera of the Year. 
The Powershot S1 IS was a highly appreciated camera. It had image stabilizer, a tough body destined to last, and compact dimensions. But it had only 3 Mpixel, a little too less even for those that don't care about resolution and think quality is number one priority. The new S2 IS addresses the problem of resolution featuring a new 5 Mpixel sensor. It has also some other welcome improvements. 
After
its big sales success, Nikon D70 - the camera that for a long time has
fight Canon Eos 300D (Digital Rebel in the USA) market leadership - has
a younger sister: the new Nikon D50. A camera that is aimed at
supplementing Nikon digital reflex cameras bottom range. In practice
the new Nikon D50 is D70 simplified version. An entry level digital SLR
that is born to capture in the Nikon world all the costumers that want
to make a big step from their compact digital camera, or from their old
