At the PMA 2005 Sony launched its very first super zoom aimed at taking advantage of the trend of the market in which digital cameras enthusiasts seem to go crazy for the compact digital cameras with a powerful zoom (10x or higher). Overall the 5 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H1 is quite a new shape for this firm, a shape that learns from the reflex in terms of ergonomics. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H1 has what a camera with a 432 mm zoom (a 35mm equivalence) must have: a stabilizer - optical in this case.

Two new digital cameras from Kodak, a firm that is constantly renewing is product portfolio: the Kodak Easyshare Z7590 and the Kodak Easyshare Z730. The Z7590 is the subtle evolution of the previous DX7590, the most interesting of the two being the Easyshare Z730, that is claimed to have a continuous auto-focus that delivers rapid click-to-capture (0.2 second), precisely freezing action at a desired moment. Both digital cameras will be available worldwide beginning in May 2005. 
Also on display at PMA 2005 from Sony, was this two cute, pocket-cameras with 5 and 7 megapixel: Sony DSC-W5 and the Sony DSC-W7. The two new Sony are point and shoot for those who want also fashion and design in their hands. The highlights are: the 2.5-inch LCD, 32 MB of build-in memory, Carl Zeiss 3X optical zoom lens, recording of MPEG video with up to 640x480 pixel resolution at 30 frames per second. 
KODAK EASYSHARE C-Series 
Yesterday Canon launched the new Canon Eos 350D (Digital Rebel XT in the US market), the camera that is due to replace the successful 300D. Yesterday, together wit other many journalist, we of PhotoCameraMag were at the launch press conference eager to see the new machine from Canon. After the usual emphasis from the top manager of the Japanese company about their 2004 market results, was finally the time of the “touch and try” session, the one in which the journalist could handle the new photo camera. Here are our first impressions, together wit the first pictures samples taken during the presentation. 
Canon today upgrades the EOS 300D with the 8.0 Megapixel, 3 frame per second EOS 350D Digital. The launch completes a refresh of the entire digital EOS line-up and confirms Canon’s commitment to digital SLR research and development. 
New at PMA 2005 two very interesting digital cameras from Canon: the SD500 and SD400. This compact point and shoot pair are aimed at the style conscious. The Canon SD500 is a 7.1 megapixel features a retractable 3x optical zoom lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of up to 37-111 mm and with a faster and more responsive 9-point AiAF “Smart” autofocus system. The Canon SD400 is similar to the SD500 but with “only” 5 megapixel.

The Nikon D2Hs is not a brand new product but a subtle evolution of the previous Nikon D2H. The main improvements are: shooting at 8 fps for a continuous burst of up to 50 images at 4.1 effective megapixels, a new image processing engine adopts advances from the D2X to further improve image quality, refinements to the exposure metering system and refined Advanced Auto White Balance (AWB) and Auto Tone Control (ATC) systems.

Sigma Corporation has started production of wide-angle lens DG series in 2000 and the number of DG series reached to thirteen models as of February 14, 2005. This time ten new DG EX tele lenses including three single focus telephoto lenses (APO 300mm F2.8 EX, APO 500mm F4.5 EX APO 800mm F5.6 EX) will be introduced to market as DG lens series, which demonstrates high performance with digital single, lens reflex cameras.
